Before time and recorded history
truth eternal has reigned
not written yet in a language
the Word has never changed

for God inspired the hand of man
to write down every word
by His Holy Spirit’s unction
these saints wrote what they heard

praise God that He has given man
wisdom of truth divine
for the expressed use to live by
fulfilling God’s design
____
of love that’s written on every page
fear of God is its awe
the Bible is recorded thoughts
of Christ Who gives His all

the Living Word Whom it describes
offers life to the dead
no longer does man have to search
for other things instead
____
because Jesus Christ is alive
the answer for all things
found in Him are eternal truths
the way of life it brings
____
His words shall never pass away
no way that truth shall die
impossible to e’er destroy
or impossible to lie
